And finally, my journey with LIVE GATE is coming to an end. Just almost took all of 2018 to make it. orz Anyways, next up will be LIVE ISLAND! Inside movie theater
So for this one we did the live viewing as getting tickets for Budoukan turned out to be a no go. We picked a theater in Yokohama in the hopes of less people and did manage to get nice seats from the middle of the theater!

Welcome to LIVE GATE! Nana mentions again how this is a new challenge in Budokan for her! She also says hello to live viewing folks! Nana says she has done live viewing before, but always just for her overseas concerts - this is the first time she is doing it for a concert in Japan. She mentions that 66 movie theaters across the country are tuning in tonight! She proceeds to explain that this time the live's theme is American flavored and does all the usual bike talk again.

Nothing new to report here. I have to say I am a bit disappointed that Kenny didn't surprise us all and play for real tonight, but violin is a hard instrument so I can't really blame him.

Mawatte time! Now I can confirm that it was indeed only during the first LIVE GATE that the mawatte happened with the dance outfit, and once people knew better it swiftly switched to this checkered dress which definitely was more deserving. She did the mou ikkai with all CheriBo, since this is the final after all. Nana talks about Darker than BLACK and Kirihara Misaki again and how that in turn made her think of cops and then she came up with sakuradamon -> sakura -> cherry -> WOW. She has time to say that the next song is Phantasm but then...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANA! Team Yo-Da brings out a cake that's shaped like a seven. Nana is so surprised, especially when rainbow colored streamers were shot out. To that she was like "even this??" xD
Then after the cake business was over, she was like "ok now for real, Phantasm".

Really loved hearing this live, but now that comes to an end. I hope Nana will choose to sing it again in a live soon... it was probably the most fitting for my mood around the time so I felt very refreshed every time after hearing it in GATE.

Nana talks about the night before and how she stayed up past midnight to wait for people to send her birthday wishes.... but nothing came. She waited till 1 am and still nothing. She sent something unrelated in the CheriBo LINE group in order to trigger bday wishes, but the only reactions were to what she said and not about her bday. She only had Keitan to take for a walk. xD Eventually she gave up and just watched Pop Team Epic. So her bday consisted of taking Keitan out to pee and watching Poputepipikku. Of course earlier today when everyone gathered for rehearsals she got the bday wishes, as people had figured they were gonna see her anyway so why bother earlier lol.
She follows up with mentioning MUSEUM III and asks who has already bought it, since the next song is from there.

14. Lazy Syndrome feat. Yoshida Takumi
I was really excited for this the moment I figured out who it is because I love all the song he has made for Nana.... but pretty soon I just started feeling sorry for him. It was clear that he wasn't used to performing to a crowd like this (or maybe it was because of Nana's presence... or both lol), because he was really nervous. orz I still enjoyed the song a lot since it is one of my favorites, but if he had felt more comfortable I am sure it'd have been a really amazing performance.

Nana talks about the time she received the demo tape for Lazy Syndrome from Takumi and how she has received so many good songs from him since then (Rensou Hanabi, Rock Ride Riot). That's why she really wanted him here tonight to sing Lazy Syndrome with her. Takumi barely manages to say anything, because his nervousness got even worse for the MC. (^-^;;) This was probably the shortest MC ever and he was gone before we knew it.
Nana then says that this brings to conclusion the story of the gate and we get to see an additional video segment where all the locks from the gate disappear when snippets of each collab is shown. Turns out the first letter of each song spells out something.. it is SAY LOVE. So, she sings Shin'ai.

The atmosphere of TESTAMENT and Nana's new dress didn't really match (and it was kind of weird to have Shin'ai's emotional feels followed by this lol), but it was kinda fun to see the hem popping around when she rocked on. xD

Shassu! Nana thanks everyone for listening to her Baka radio show for so long again. Then we get to see a peek of the people at the live viewing in Niihama, her home town. They had a nice bday sign for her and everything. She wonders if her mom and classmates were in there. She then says that she just heard from Mishi-P that she will have a summer tour again, starting from Sendai in June and ending in Saitama in September.
The nit's time to move onto more singing and she asks if we are ready and goes about it in terms of age, 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, veterans. She mentions that she sang this song in budokan after it came out, the first song she composed. Now she will sing it here again!

Nana runs back on stage again and thanks for calling her back one more time. She wasn't really expecting it so she hasn't got anything prepared for it. She thinks about it a bit and calls CheriBos and Team Yo-Da back onto the stage and says they all had a bit of an emergency meeting backstage about coming out again. The plan they decided upon was to sing the theme song of this live, so POWER GATE it is for a second time tonight.

While I really love the live version of POWER GATE, it felt a bit of an missed opportunity to just do a song we already heard tonight again. Still, I am not one to complain about more Nana so bring it!
And thus, LIVE GATE has finally come to an end. For us it didn't particularly end on a high note, since some group of assholes sat in the theater right behind us and kept complaining and insulting Nana the whole time. Really took a lot of effort from our side not to punch them in the face. The nicest take away from this was how united the rest of the fans there were and us being foreign didn't stop us from being considered as part of them, as once the group of assholes had departed some fans actually said otsukaresama to us.

You probably remember me, you bought a couple of tickets for me for some 2013 Nana shows at the Saitama Super Arena, but i ended up not flying in, because my mother died. I posted as Gunsmith Cat. How are you doing?

Yeah! It is nice to be a part of that even though I, and my friends, look so obviously different.
I really don't understand why that kind of negative people actually bother to go through the trouble of getting tickets and everything... orz I guess on the bright side, at least I don't encounter people like that too often.
