Since it's Nana's birthday today, I am here to celebrate with a new translation! Been wanting to do this one for a while, since Link or Chains really fills me with a lot of feels every time I listen to it. It kind of makes me feel melancholic yet cathartic and it's honestly given me so much comfort during the past year - truly another amazing banger from Shihori-san. Translation notes:
- Even though shackles and bond would be more accurate for 手枷 and 絆 I figured I'd take the opportunity to refer to the song title here since that seemed to be the idea with this line.
- This was a tricky one since for 孤高 I couldn't think of a perfect match with English... it has the nuance of not just solitary, but also a bit of charismatic hero. Like, no matter how alone this person is they will stick to their ideals. So a 孤高 victory is something really special.
