FAN CLUB EVENT IX Summary Report

Surprise report here for FAN CLUB EVENT IX!!! To sort of ease the workload on me, I decided to combine both Day 1 & Day 2 into one report. I'm sorry I haven't really been able to dish out reports this year on LIVE HEROES and LIVE PARADE, it's been a pretty tough year for me in quite a few ways so I just lacked the energy to take on more. I'll try and figure out a new template that'll be more manageable for my reports, which means they won't be as comprehensive as they used to, but for now, please enjoy all the silliness of the past weekend! Happy Holidays to y'all!

1. Promise on Christmas
2. Daisuki na Kimi he / Hoshikuzu Symphony

A very Xmassy Nana first showed up to sing a couple of on theme songs! Since I'm not big on xmas in general, it's not like I was dying to hear the very specifically xmas songs in Nana's arsenal, but I do appreciate the fact that this might be the only chance for me to hear them live so I savored every moment! And nothing beats the current Nana singing her older songs with so much more power and nuance than she used to.

Afterwards, Mishi-P joins Nana on stage dressed as Santa Claus (outfit apparently bought from Donki xD). On both days, there's some chit chat about how it's been a long time since a Fan Club Event like this was held, since the last one ended up being fully online due to the pandemic.

7 Questions Corner

Fans were asked what were their biggest surprises in regards to Nana and her career and after unveiling them, Nana and Mishi-P discuss them for a bit and then he'll ask something related to the topic at hand. Honestly, I can't even say for sure now if there even was an actual question involved for all the topics since Nana and Mishi-P like to ramble on LOL.

Koushien Live

Nana talks about how it was really hard singing in the rain, water kept pouring into her mouth and whipping her eyes and she wondered if her hand will become like Fate's and there'll be lightning and electricity crackling down from the mic.

Beautiful

Nana herself was also very surprised to get to perform in a musical since she isn't really well-versed with acting. She tells us how she was talking about having seen the musical on her trip to NYC on her radio show and how much she adored it and the next day she got a call about the role basically.

Kouhaku Uta Gassen

She used to say she hoped for that as a joke, since people would have laughed if she said it for real and then it happened!!! Mishi-P couldn't tell her right away after hearing about it and it was really hard for him to not say anything.

Nana Mizuki is Worldwide!

Apparently a fan had written how they had gone to the Maldives for vacation and had worn their LIVE ADVENTURE shirt, only to bump into a couple visiting from Taiwan who were also Nana fans and then they ended up spending the whole day talking about Nana!

Tokyo Dome Live

Nana talks about how it felt performing at Tokyo Dome and said she felt the venue manifest as a he who was not convinced she should be performing there and she felt very intimidated. She also mentions that she felt the same way at Budoukan. Today's Pia Arena MM is a she and very kind to her apparently! Mishi-P asks what Ariake Arena was then where she had the final for LIVE PARADE earlir this year and apparently Nana feels that venue was genderless. Then apologizes for how weird the conversation became.

Two Lives in One Day

Nana and Mishi-P reminiscence about how for LIVE GRACE -Opus III- there was also a Precure Live on the same day and since timing wise they weren't overlapping Nana was like "I can do both!" but now talking about it they remembered that it wasn't in fact the first time Nana had done two lives in one day. There was another occassion a long time ago, but I don't recall exactly now what it was.

Marriage/pregnancy

Apparently a question had come in from a fan if this partner of hers is real since she is very quiet about her private life and she swears it's a real person. She introduced him to Mishi-P and his reaction had apparently been "LOL".

Nanaya Santa Merry Christmas Show

This corner was a homage to a Japanese show with a similar name, where people would phone in about their xmas troubles and receive advice and a present from the hosts of the show, but the Nana version we had changed the concept around a bit of course, and the people phoning in would be her fellow seiyuu, senpai on the first night and kouhai on the second, and after talking they would need to be the ones to give a gift and Nana would pull a seat number from a sack to determine the recipient from the attending fans.

Tachiki Fumihiko

Tachiki-san met Nana during recording on Jiku Tantei Genshi-kun (Nana was very touched that he remembered) and Nana considers him to be a very kind senpai even though she expected the opposite considering how he typically voices intimidating roles. Nana reminisces how couldn't match the mouth movements at all back then since she was new to the biz and you didn't receive a rehearsal video in advance and they just basically showed the scene to you once and you were just expected to do it.

Tachiki-san gifted an alarm clock with recorded alarm message by him and Nana with him being mean and her being nice.

Ootsuka Akio

Ootsuka-san first met Nana on Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker ofc, and it was a rare occasion where they actually recorded together. That's the sort of thing Kojima insisted upon and Nana was so shocked when THE Snake walked in to record with her. They reminiscence about Nana peacing out from a talk show at Tokyo Game Show to do a concert at Chiba Marine Stadium on the same day.

Ootsuka-san gifted a muffler.

Hidaka Rina

Hidaka-san joined Star Crew earlier this year! She shares a story of how she and Nana and another one of her kouhai seiyuus went to dinner together one time and it lasted until very late into the night until Nana finally put a stop to it and says she needs to be cycling early next morning LOL. Nana says Hidaka-san is very smart and is good at creating an atmosphere that makes everyone feel included, Rina decides to be a troll and says she still thinks Santa is real and Nana says nvm we are all dumb in Star Crew.

Hidaka-san gifted a shoulder massager.

Kotobuki Minako

Kotobuki-san met Nana on Dog Days which surprised Nana because she feels like they met way earlier. Kotobuki-san is good friends with one of the actors and the three of them would often go to lunch together during Beautiful. Nana finds her very energetic and the most positive person she knows, as most seiyuu tend to be quite negative.

Kotobuki-san gifted a coffee machine.

After this corner is over, Nana goes to change clothes and Mishi-P shares some statistics with us, such as how many attendees share the same exact birthday with Nana, how many attendees were born on the year that the Fan Club was formed, who is the oldest/youngest attendee, what is the male/female ratio of attendees etc.

SCN Music Fest

This corner is a homage to FNS 歌謡祭 which Nana frequently gets invited to and where she gets to collaborate with a bunch of other artists so she wanted to do something similar here during the Fan Club Event.

1. BLACK DIAMOND
with Cho-san, Kado-D, Kojiro from the Cherry Boys

2. Sound of Destiny / Powder Snow
with Suara

 3. Sailor Star Song
with Inoue Marina

4. Merry X'mas
with Cho-san, Kado-D, Kojiro from the Cherry Boys

Man, this corner was such a pleasant surprise!! The acoustic BLACK DIAMOND and Merry X'mas were really beautiful and tbh, I had always wanted to hear the violin intro to BLACK DIAMOND live like this and it was truly wonderful. The White Album collaborations with Suara were incredible as well and I know mean a lot to a lot of folks, but for me the the star of this corner was hands down Sailor Star Song. Sailor Moon meant a lot to me growing up (and still does!) and it was honestly a dream come true to have Nana join the cast of the latest movies and sing this son since it's my second favorite opening actually after Moonlight Densetsu.

Both Suara and Inoue-san swear that getting to attend Nana's Fan Club Events like this has become their most favorite xmas memory ever. xD Nana and Inoue-san also touch upon how amazing it was to get to sing a song from Sailor Moon which they also grew up watching!

The arrangements for BLACK DIAMOND and Merry X'mas were done by Kado-D, who is apparently a big ドS, since he made Cho-san play the Marimba for the intro and outro of Merry X'mas, which is a pretty rare instrument and Cho-san hadn't played one for like 25 years until this event.

Who wants to be a Nanaonaire?

Okay, this corner was super hilarious! Mishi-P explains where this homage comes from (Who wants to be a millionaire? of course) and laments that the younger fans might have no clue what it is but it's probably very nostalgic to us older ones. He explains that Nana will have the same lifelines as in the show - 50/50, telephone and audience. In the case of telephone the help will be all the collaborators from the previous corner who are sitting back stage ready to help out. Also, unlike in the show, all questions will get covered regardless of whether Nana answers them correctly and the amount of questions she answers right will determine how many fans commemorative tickets will get signed by her.

→ Okada Akinobu, their ex manager  (wrong: Nana answered the current manager)

  5. Who was the very last performer of Kouhaku on the year Nana was born?

  6. What does Suara mean in Indonesian?

  7. What was the best selling curry on January this year at Aubergene?

    →  approx. 6 000 000 (correct)

  9. What was the first song Nana sang in the first FC Event?
→ The Place of Happiness (correct)

  10. what was the color of the suit Mishi-P was wearing when Nana and him first met?
    → Khaki (correct)

Nana and Mishi-P really went all out in this corner and it was really hilarious when he'd ask her "Final answer?" and she'd reply "Final answer!" and then Mishi-P would pull the weirdest of faces before revealing if it was correct or not. Also, Nana obviously used the telephone lifeline for the questions related to Inoue-san and Suara but alas, coincidentally the person in question would always be missing from the telephone helpers and return just when the help countdown of 30 seconds was over so Nana actually had to guess those herself.

Mishi-P also let us know some tid bits about Nana's sales data, such as how the bestselling single was Bright Stream, bestselling album was MUSEUM II, the non-compilation bestselling album was ROCKBOUND NEIGHBORS and best selling BD/DVD was LIVE DIAMOND/FEVER.

Anyways, it was pretty impressive how many of these Nana managed to get correctly and it was very interesting to listen to her thought process for her choices! In the end, the result was that she'd need to sign 677 people's tickets for the first day (and Mishi-P would sign the remaining 100 that was up for grabs, since the question Nana got wrong was about him personally) and 577 people's tickets for the second day (and apparently Mishi-P will do the 200 she missed lol).

That brings this corner to its conclusion as well, and before finishing things off, Nana and Mishi-P quick fire some announcements consisting of: King Super Live, Nana's new single Turn the World being available this weekend, LIVE HEROES will have a showing at select cinemas so people can cheer along while watching as calls weren't allowed yet at the time of the concert, Day 1 of this Fan Club Event will be streamed in a couple of weeks, LIVE JUNGLE tour announceed for next summer! Nana and Mishi-P talk about how there is also a Precure Live again on Nana's birthday weekend when the cinema showings of LIVE HEROES will be too, which is the main reason there is no live on that weekend this year. Apparently the Precure folks booked Nana for this concert already 4 years in advance LOL.

And then as a parting gift on both days we get...

Turn the World

I wasn't the biggest fan of Get up! Shout! so wasn't sure if I'd like this Shaman King song but man do I love it!!!  The rock vibe is really up my alley and hearing this really made the FC Event end on a very high note for me. I've honestly been looping this ever since the weekend so might be likely that you'll see a translation for it popping up soon too. Sure hope it'll be included in the summer tour set list too!

And that concludes my report! And as said, I'm gonna try and figure out some format that I could see myself keeping up with for future live reports so bear with me.
