Aamun Kuiskaus - AMV and Lyrics Translation

Holy hell, I just uploaded an AMV today! How long has it been?! I've been working on this one for quite some time, the longest I've worked on one AMV really. Not that this was particularly hard to make or anything, there just happened to be many obstacles on the way of making it - that's all. My editing program wouldn't work during the hot weather, had to find alternative versions of Dog Days since the one I had did not convert properly, general lack of time and so forth. xD Hopefully it won't take this long for me to release my next one - one can only hope, haha.

So anyways, this AMV is for a friend of mine who was the most sad to see me go when I left the United Kingdom last May. I made it in order to show her that I am not leaving her behind. Without further ado, here is the video. Enjoy!

Next I shall share with you my translation of the lyrics, but first I want to point out a couple of choices I made when I translated them. The literal meaning of "kyllä se jää kantaa" would be "the ice will surely carry you", but that didn't seem like a good way to put it in English so I went with "the ice will hold".  The next line I took some liberties with was "tiedät mä sua seuraan", which would literally be something like "you know I follow you" or "you know I am following you", but the first sounds like Tarzan speak and the second sounds stalkerish so I went with "you know I'll follow you". Since Finnish doesn't state future actions in a different way from the present like English does, that is quite as right as the other options. ^^

On a random side note that has nothing to do with my translations - I find the ice thing really funny in the lyrics. I mean, it's a really nice metaphor, but when you think about it literally it's a bit odd. Like, would you really trust someone who says "yeah yeah the ice will hold go on ahead before me" when about to journey on top of the ice of a frozen lake? Sounds more like a person who wants to make sure they themselves don't fall into the lake by having their friend act as the guinea pig. x'D Ahahaha.
